Home/Service Areas/Kingwood and Humble
Custom homes in Kingwood and Humble.
Ten minutes south of our Porter base. Established neighborhoods, tree-covered lots and a permitting process that is different from the county, which we handle.
City lots, city rules, handled.
City of Houston permitting
Kingwood is inside Houston city limits. The city permits and inspects structural work, which means a fuller inspection schedule than a county lot. We build it into the timeline from day one.
Community association review
Kingwood's villages and many Humble and Atascocita neighborhoods have architectural review. Elevations, materials and tree preservation get approved before permits. We prepare the package.
Teardowns and infill
A lot of Kingwood custom work is replacing an older home on a great lot. Demolition, utility reconnections and working around mature trees are part of the job.
Lake Houston and Atascocita
Unincorporated Harris County lots near the lake go through Harris County permitting and POA review, with elevation and drainage requirements that matter near the water.
City sewer and water
Most lots here have city or MUD taps, which simplifies utilities compared to a county lot. Tap fees and impact fees still need to be in the budget.
Close to home
Our office in Porter is minutes up US-59. Site visits are quick and trades are already working the area.
Common questions
Do you build in unincorporated areas, or only inside city limits?
Both. A lot of our work is on county lots outside city limits (Liberty and Montgomery County especially), where permitting and inspections run through the county, a MUD, or a property owners association rather than a city. Inside Houston city limits the city permits and inspects the structural work. We have pulled permits and passed inspections with all of them.
Can I build a custom home if I already have plans?
Yes. Send us your architectural plans and we will review them for feasibility, code and site fit, then price the build so you know what they cost to construct as drawn.
How much does it cost to build a house in the Houston area?
Custom home construction in the Houston area generally runs from about $150 to $300 or more per square foot. Where you land depends on the level of customization, materials and finishes, site work, utilities and permitting. Our cost guide breaks it down.
How long does it take to build a custom home?
Most custom homes take 6 to 12 months once permits are approved and construction begins. Design, selections, financing and permitting happen before that clock starts, so plan on a few extra months up front.
